things to Know

COMMUNICATIONS: For minor administrative matters such as making or changing appointments, you are welcome to text/email/call me. No clinical information will be discussed outside of a scheduled session via text, phone or otherwise.  Messages received on the weekends or holidays will be returned on Monday or the day after.  

CANCELLATIONS: A minimum of 24 hour notice is required for any cancellations. Any cancellations after that will be billed for the full amount and is not eligible for any insurance reimbursement. This policy is in place to try and ensure equitable access of care to all clients.  If an appointment is scheduled and not used, someone else is not able to take advantage of the service for their support. Your understanding of this is greatly appreciated and happy to discuss further if any questions.  

This is not an emergency contact or hotline. If you are in need of immediate assistance or are experiencing an emergency, please visit your nearest emergency room or dial 9-1-1. You may also call or text 988 for crisis support for you or someone else. This Lifeline network is available 24/7.

CONFIDENTIALITY: Feeling that our conversations will be kept in confidence is essential in building a trusting therapeutic relationship. I cannot and will not share any information with the exception that I am presented with a court order; there is evidence of child or elder abuse or there is reason to believe you are a danger to yourself or another. 

Note: All efforts are made to keep our sessions confidential and private(both verbal and written information).

CONSULTATION: Prior to any scheduled appointment, I will provide a free 15 minute consultation to give the opportunity to ask questions and to get a sense of my style/approach as a therapist and to see if it may be a good fit for you.  We will review office policies, payments and what has brought you to seek assistance. There is no pressure to commit to scheduling an appointment as it is understood that that piece has to be when you are ready. I am currently accepting new clients both virtually and I have limited spots available for in-person where my office is located in Somerville, NJ.

I am an Out Of Network Provider. I will provide an invoice (superbill) at the end of the month for our session that you can submit to your insurance company if you are going through insurance. Some, none or all of your fees may be covered depending on your insurance. I suggest contacting your insurance company before an appointment so that you are informed if you are eligible for any OON reimbursement.  We can discuss this more and the benefits of an OON provider more during a consultation phone call.

Individual 50 Minute Session Fee: $150 Payment (cash, credit card ) is collected at the start of each session.
